Sketch 360 is a software developed by Microsoft Garage Project that aims to facilitate the creation of 360-degree panoramic sketches. This tool serves as a quick alternative for producing sketches of both physical and digital spaces, particularly in cases where traditional modeling techniques are deemed time-consuming.

Targeted at professionals in various fields including architecture, VR design, urban sketching, 3D game design, and 360 video production, Sketch 360 offers the ability to create precise sketches from a single perspective. These sketches can be easily shared online, enhancing collaboration and feedback processes.

The application features an intuitive interface allowing users to draw on a single pane using an equirectangular grid and stencils as guides. The stencils aid in drawing accurate vertical and curved horizontal lines that appear straight in the 360-degree view.

As sketches are made on the canvas, they are seamlessly projected onto the inside of a sphere surrounding the user, enabling a real-time rotation to view the latest strokes. Additionally, the software leverages tilt and rotation functionalities on compatible devices to simulate the viewing angle through a virtual window pane.

Sketch 360 excels in its compatibility with multi-screen setups and devices that support pressure-sensitive pens, such as the Microsoft Surface Duo. It offers the convenience of exporting sketches as JPEG images that can be viewed as immersive 360-degree photos on popular platforms like Facebook, Adobe Lightroom, Kuula.co, or specialized applications like VR Media Player.
